Theodore L. Salter

Mr. Salter began his career in 1978 with Ernst & Ernst, now Ernst & Young in Greenville, South Carolina. He became a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina and transferred to Norfolk, Virginia office of Ernst & Young in 1981. Mr. Salter served many clients in many industries during his tenure at Ernst & Young including bank saving and loans, and credit unions. Mr. Salter joined Southland Technologies (acquired by Illiniois Tool Works in 2000) as the Comptroller, he was promoted to Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 1988. Mr. Salter joined HamptonRoads Bankshares in January.
